TYPES OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Personal health is divided into five categories:
- physical,
- emotional,
- social,
- spiritual and intellectual.
It is important not to overlook any of these areas in order to be considered "well". Health and Wellness Educators (HAWES) want to educate you, the student, on how to improve your personal health.
Physical
- exercise! Walking for 30 minutes three times a week will also improve your health significantly.
- Eat healthy. Fried foods, soft drinks, processed meat and sweets should all be avoided. Every day, try to include 5 servings of fruits and vegetables in your diet.
- Meal time should not be missed. Breakfast, in particular, slows down your metabolic rate and can lead to weight gain.
- Avoid regular binge drinking and drug abuse. Limit yourself to no more than five drinks in one sitting.
